Surrender
Let Your Soul Wisdom Lead the Way
You have been trying to control a situation or force a desired outcome. You are scared of what may happen if you let go and trust the Universe to guide you. However, surrender allows dreams to fall into the elegant love of your soul’s wisdom so they can grow. At first, letting go may feel uncomfortable, but it is less painful than what brought you here. Yes, stepping into the unknown can trigger unpleasant emotions, but the energy of surrender will embrace you in grace. It transports you beyond space and time so you can see, feel and think about things differently. Move beyond the obvious and assumed, and relax into your soul’s perspective. From this elevated outlook, you will be able to consider all that is beneath, above and surrounding your present circumstances-and fresh energies, opportunities, inspirations and answers will magically appear.
Shadow Mastery Class: Surrender and Elevate Your Outcomes
Meditation
Place your hand on the card. Gently close your eyes. Sense your body and concentrate on your breathing. Follow your breath inward. Hold for five seconds and relax. Breathe out and release all tension. Focus on the middle of your chest.
In front of you, a golden staircase descends into the earth. Walk down the ten healing steps to a magical, amethyst crystal cave. As you move down the steps, think of something you would like to surrender. It might be a person, situation, thought, habit or place. When you arrive at the bottom, step into the amethyst cave and greet your shadow.
A door materializes in front of you. On it, the word “Surrender” lights up in neon like on a stage door. You open the door and step into a room with no floor. You cling to the doorway until you hear a voice from within say, “Let go. You are safe.”
You let go and begin to float. You feel supported and excited. Become the observer and let the scene unfold.
Whatever you have chosen to surrender floats in front of you. It is connected to you by a thick rope. You clutch the rope as if your life depends on it. You may have invested a lot of time and energy in whatever is at the other end of the rope, and it didn’t work out the way you thought. It didn’t make you happy or make life easier. Feel the pain in your hands as they grip the rope. The need to hang on feels familiar. Your mind says, “Who will I be if I’m no longer clinging to this? What will happen if I let go?”
Your grip tightens, and you are unwilling to let go.
Take a breath, become the observer gain and give yourself permission to surrender. Begin to lift your fingers from the rope, one at a time. Watch as the rope leaves your hands, and all the pain and restriction floats away with it. Wish it well on its new journey. You feel a release, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. Stay here for as long as you like-at least thirty seconds.
Float back through the stage door into the amethyst cave. Return to the golden staircase. As you ascend, surrender to your soul wisdom and aim to let the moment inspire your next steps. Thank your shadow for alerting you to the illusion of control. When you reach the top of the stairs, take two deep breaths and open your eyes to freedom.
Inspired Insights, Reflections and Actions
When you surrender, you don’t stop creating and directing your life, and you certainly don’t let go of your dreams and desires. You merely say goodbye to resistance. When you let go of anything, your consciousness or awareness expands into fresh understanding, and you heighten your perspective. It’s impossible to know how everything will play out. Surrender this need and come back to the now. This is where empowerment exists.
Try this exercise: Close your eyes, place your hands at your heart and agree to feel life as it is. Engage your senses. What are you feeling, hearing, smelling, tasting and seeing (behind your closed eyes) right now? Surrender into all that you feel. Breathe deeply three times and open your eyes.
Journal Work
Write down or draw two hurts or habits you would like to surrender. For each hurt or habit, ask the following questions, then write down or draw any information you receive:
* How is this benefiting or serving me?
* How would I feel without this in my life?
At the beginning of every month or the new moon, repeat this exercise with two new things you would like to surrender.
