Manipura-Solar Plexus Chakra

You are a unique spark of the divine, and this card is a reminder of your duty to be your authentic self. The solar plexus is our “sunshine state”, our power centre; when healthy, we radiate sunshine and personal authority. The image reminds us that our power, represented by the dragon, need not fight the good fight in an unwieldy manner but can be gentle, trusted, even tamed. Quan Yin- the East Asian bodhisattva, the goddess of mercy, here for our enlightenment- rides on the back of her tamed dragon and through her love and compassion (rather than force) moves mountains, spreading peace and loving kindness throughout the world.
We can develop a poor habit of giving our power away to others, particularly if we have a fear of others’ ill treatment or judgement of us, or if we judge others to be better, wiser, kinder, and so on, than us. Our solar plexus contracts at the prospect of being hurt or rejected, and the greatest injury may come from the belief that we are separate. This is a reminder that you are here and you belong. Acknowledge your differences to others, celebrate them; give yourself permission to be “all that you are”. Harness the courage of the lion, and stand your ground like the bear. There is enough space for every one of us. Banish your fear, and shine your light as you fully embrace your individuality.
Action: Do your inner work. This card is about stepping into and owning your authentic power. Immerse yourself in the colour yellow, connect to the “great central sun”, and shine your light! Use the mantra “It’s good to be me”.
Points of Reflection:
Do you feel like life is happening to you? Do you allow yourself to be dictated to by others? Focus upon what it is that you want and how you want your life to be. The more you focus upon the things in your life that feel good, the more you will experience things that feel good.
Do you engage in a fight or struggle with people who are not listening or who don’t care? How much energy are you wasting in the polar opposite direction of your hopes, desires, and creations of what you do want? What can you do today, tomorrow, or next week to move you further towards what you want to experience? How much time do you spend telling yourself “I can’t” as opposed to “I can”? Use the method and change that belief.
Where, and to whom, do you give your power away, perhaps seeking approval from external sources or denying your needs and expression? With love, can you change that.
There is no greater power than love, and no greater facilitator of life’s possibilities than the power of belief. Support yourself, trust in yourself, and focus upon your heart’s unique expression and desire. You are important and necessary in the cycles of life. Allow yourself to “show up”, and “hold space”- with love- for all that you are.
