The “Blue Stone”, Lapis Lazuli, continues to be mined primarily in Afghanistan. Ancient Egyptians were likely to have found this precious stone and adopted it as one of the most blessed stones. The “Original Sapphire” was used to provide the staple blue hue of many Egyptian cosmetic products and would be crushed to make paint to depict the most beautiful blue skies. The stone was fashioned into jewelry, totems, cylindrical seals, various practical household items and decor.
