Release What Isn’t Working

Leet Go and Live Beyond

Most people carry persistent tension and worry int their bodies without noticing. They may be so accustomed to nervousness that everything they do contains varying degrees of strain. This can cause them to stay in the situations they know and have become comfortable with to the point of stagnation and decline.

It is time to tune in to your body and recognize that the stiffness you carry is holding you back. Become aware of how your thinking keeps you tied to what you are used to and prevents you from moving beyond limiting ideas and habitual loops.

Consciously breathe and release the tightness inside your muscles, shoulders, arms, chest, stomach, intestines, back and legs. From this place of ease, explore new ways of responding. Resist the urge to react to situations out of habit or instinct.

Recognize that the stress impacting you in the present is temporary. You have an opportunity to do things differently. Let go of the old, reactive ways of operating and find new ways of behaving, thinking and perceiving life.

If you are prone to overworking yourself, cultivate a more balanced attitude to life. Question how you can fit more of what your soul is yearning for into your life. Ask yourself the questions that truly matter:

-How can I make more time for my family, adventure and creativity?

-How can I better my health, improve my wellbeing and learn more about my true nature and spirituality?

Every life cycle requires a new approach. What cycle are you currently in? Are you in a learning how to become a more confident person, a parent, a student, a teacher or mentor, a more loving partner or friend? How can you express yourself in accord with this becoming in a more enjoyable and satisfying way?

You may have been absorbing feelings that are not your own. Separate yourself from the pressure of carrying other people’s burdens. Create or reaffirm healthy boundaries with those close to you. Say no to what is not working for you. It is time to empower yourself and regain inner sovereignty.

Healing Practice

To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.

Exercise

Close your eyes, center your breath and tune in to your body. Scan your body to identify any areas of tension. Once you have sensed one or more, tense up your muscles one by one and hold for twenty seconds each before relaxing. Do this several times.

Ask yourself where the tension comes from and what it id related to. Consider how you can let this tension go and move beyond it.

Stand up and shake the tension from your body. After the body exercise, grab a pen and paper and write down answers to the following questions:

-What is the most important thing for me to focus on at this time?

-What can I let go of?

-What do I need to spend more time thinking about and doing?

-What do I need to spend less time thinking about and doing?

-How can I find a new, relaxed, joyful approach toward what has been stressful in the past?

Explore these questions every day for at least one to two weeks. Review your answers and consciously begin to release tension in your body and create change in your life. Every time you think, perceive or do something that brings tension to your body, acknowledge it and let it go.
