Accept Loving Support

Let Yourself Be Held

We can easily be overwhelmed when we try to do everything alone. We may be tempted to put on a brave face and act the part of the flourishing independent because it is easier than admitting we are incapable of getting ourselves out of a difficult situation. You don’t have to face everything alone. The time has come to reach out and ask for the help you need.

You may feel overly sensitive to other people’s thoughts, judgments and criticisms, or have difficulty forgiving yourself and others for past mistakes. You may be focusing on what’s wrong instead of what’s right, dwelling on your limitations and why you can’t do things. Instead, ask yourself what you can do to build on your abilities and improve your prospects. Ask yourself:

-In which area do I need help?

-Do I know someone who can help me, or do I need to look for this person, group or professional?

-Do I feel like I deserve help?

-Do I need to work through feelings of guilt or lack of self-worth before moving forward?

By identifying the areas where you need extra help and being open to receiving it, you will feel a renewed strength and become more flexible.

This card also asks you to look at the effectiveness of your daily actions and how you manage your time. Do you use the time you have to lighten your load? Procrastination and overcommitment can be limiting sources of stress. Understand yourself, appreciate your natural strengths for the gifts they are and acknowledge where you would like to improve. This understanding will guide you to how and where to channel your talent and when to seek others’ input.

It’s easy to feel like you have to do everything yourself to be deemed a success. However, this can be an overwhelming and isolating approach. Looking at yourself and your situation with love will help you consciously explore each step ahead of you – and welcome assistance as needed.

You are at a point in your life where the desire to claim autonomy and build your inner and outer strength has eclipsed fear or doubt. The time has come to reach out and accept the help being offered.

Healing Practice

To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.

Visualization

Sit or stand comfortably. Focus on your back. Breathe deeply and slowly. Arch your neck and let your lower spine curve. As you breathe out, bring your head forward and allow your back to straighten. Repeat this process several times until your breathing is even and steady and you are relaxed.

Become aware of any parts of your back that are holding dense energy. Place your hands wherever you feel your back needs attention or as close as you can comfortably reach. Breathe into this area three times. Ask your back if it has any messages for you. These insights could manifest as thoughts, emotions, sensations, images or memories. Give yourself time to recognize and receive these messages. You may like to write them down. Become aware of how these energies, stories and feelings may be giving you pain.

Imagine any dense energy flowing out of you and into a purple flame. Let go and watch the fire consume the old that no longer serves you. Once the dense energy has been released, imagine putting out the flame.

To complete the healing, be open to the possibility of the right people, opportunities and support coming into your life. Feel yourself becoming more confident and capable of resolving your current challenges and moving forward with loving support.

Repeat this process one to three times per day until you feel supported on your path.
