Transform Your Relationships

Move On and Move Up

Most of us have heard or used the saying, “They are a pain in the neck.” Few of us mean it literally. If you have been dealing with a tumultuous relationship, your neck may feel tight, stiff or pained. Releasing emotional and psychological pain can help you release physical pain.

You are being asked to focus on healing a challenging relationship within your soul family. This could be a parent, child, lover, friend, colleague, partner or boss. This transformation might take time, but you can start by shifting your perspective about this person. Rather than seeing them as an adversary, try to perceive them as someone helping you change. For instance, if this person took advantage of you in the past, you can thank them for helping you set healthy boundaries, take care of yourself, become more thoughtful, think before acting and so on.

Those we love or are challenged by are part of our soul family. They are here to allow us to learn lessons, become better human beings and forgive more deeply.

This card also points to the possibility that you have unfinished business with someone in your life. Take the time to understand and explore your karmic connections with this person. What is the relationship trying to teach you? Do you feel like you have gained wisdom from it? What part of this connection is still draining you or making you feel incomplete? What do you need to do to heal, resolve or transform pain?

Healing Practice

To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.

Exercise

Have you complained that someone or something is a pain in the neck? Where in your life are you unwilling to bend and be flexible? Is there someone you need to communicate with?

Ask yourself:

-If I wanted to take responsibility for my role in the deterioration of our relationship, what would I say to this person?

Imagine communicating with them openly and honestly. Tell them how you feel and what you have learned. Imagine a higher, more responsible version of them answering you with kindness and respect.

Ask yourself whether you can change your perspective on this relationship to create more understanding and promote healing. If you can, make a plan to do so. Let old grudges and pain go and usher green healing energy into your heart space. Let it buoy you into more significant healing and new possibilities.
