Learn to Nurture Yourself

Become the Love You Deserve

Are you constantly on the go-giving, giving, giving, even when there is little left to offer? Do you feel drained, empty and overwhelmed by life? Are you hard on yourself, overly critical, despite knowing that compassion would serve you better?

It’s time to slow down and give yourself the kind, gentle nurturing that you deserve. If you are always stretching your inner resources to help others, work on receiving love, care and nurturing from others. To give is easy. To receive requires an open heart and vulnerability that can frighten and alarm those whose hearts have been closed for too long. Opening to love can dredge up deep feelings of inadequacy and fear. It can reveal the true extent of need and lay bare a history of neglect.

You may need to look at your relationships and ask if they are fulfilling or empty. Do they feed you or take from you? Often, we stick with what we know instead of striking out to discover new tracks due to apprehension or fear. This card asks you to only give your time and energy to those who give you energy and help you grow.

Do you give yourself time and permission to experience intuitive flow, healthful movement, creativity and artistic expression? If not, you might find comfort and freedom in these activities. Awaken your artistic individuality, refine it and let it shine.

Healing Practice

To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.

Note: If you have had a mastectomy or any kind of cosmetic or surgical alteration that makes the chest area triggering to focus on, or otherwise experience dysmorphia or dysphoria, feel free to skip this healing. Instead, simply focus on your heart space and imagine a loving green light gently pulsing like a beacon, growing brighter and brighter until it encompasses your room, your house, your city or your town. Imagine the planet alight with your love. Feel that same love echoed back to you in a compassionate feedback loop that grows and sustains you. Continue for as long as feels good.

Energy Healing

Sit or stand comfortably in front of a mirror. Focus on your chest, where breasts or pectorals may be. Do you love, appreciate and look after your breasts or pectorals? Or do you criticize them, poke fun at them, or associate them with feelings of disappointment, hurt, or shame? Look into the mirror, bare your chest, and observe it. If shame, dislike, sadness, embarrassment, or any other negative feelings emerge, gently disrupt them with a loving thought. Feel your heart swell with love for your body.  Focus on letting go of all criticism and seeing yourself afresh – with love, appreciation and acceptance.

Place your hands on your chest and focus on sending rejuvenating green light into the tissue. Once your chest feels light and free of energetic blocks and tangles, hug yourself and focus on directing love and nurture through your body.

Think of something complimentary to say about your chest area. Complete the following sentence:

  • I love my breasts/pectorals/chest because ________.

Repeat this affirmation five times to complete your healing practice.
