Racism rules the church’s narrative. European clergy would whitewash her image with paint and explain the candle soot or age caused the skin to turn dark.

Very well said. The Dark Mother is Calling to us in these dark chaotic times. I think of the torches of Hecate at the cross roads. Many of us operating outside the patriarchal paradigms that have a stranglehold on our politics and culture presently need dark magic that the Dark Mother can provide. I don’t mean evil or destructive except that we must release in ourselves any attachments we have to the present system and work outside the system in our own way to resist and use our magic to issue a I DO NOT CONSENT spell far and wide. The dark is not an evil place unlk4ss your intentions are so and as you speak you create. Let us not use our magic for evil but for the dissolution of the powers that seek to oppress, act callously without compassion or mercy and violate human rights. May the might of the Orange Humpty Dumpty fall and truth again rise to guide us forward choosing the right path by Hecate’s lead.
