Tektite

Tektite is a glass gifted from the heavens. As meteors fall to the Earth, they are heated to a point where they melt into the glass-like “stones”. First found in Czechoslovakia by the Moldau River, these “moldavites” have been cherished since 1787.

Tektites are associated with the energies of Aries and Cancer, though it isn’t their official birthstone. With the heat from Aries fueling our drive toward our desires, while Cancer’s femininity helps hold sensitivity and creativity in action. Tektites work to open and balance the Third Eye chakra, which allows for safe communication with other planes. With its high frequency vibrations, it helps the wearer elevate consciousness and encourages spiritual growth. Coded information is constantly being absorbed by the brain; Tektites help decode these “downloads” through our dreams, the astral realm, synchronicities by boosting psychic abilities by clearing out lower chakras that may be blocking energy flow.

warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Dirt can be gently removed from any crevices with a soft brush. Do not use toothpaste, as that can scratch the glass surface of the tektite. Keep tektites in padded envelopes or boxes to prevent accidental breakage.

Often confused with diopside due to its pale green-ish color, Moldavites/Tektites are more commonly black, dark brown, or dark green. Charge and cleanse with the moon cycle. It is not advised to place Tektites in water for any period of time beyond a quick rinse with warm, soapy water.
