Stand Up for Your Beliefs

The Time to Act is Now
Integrity is powerful. It empowers you to take a stand and speak up for your beliefs, and it encourages others to walk in your footsteps.
An opportunity to demonstrate what you stand for will soon present itself. Will you hold your tongue and allow others to take charge, so you remain safe? Or will you risk potential conflict to do what is right? When one lives with integrity, there is only one answer.
It is easy to stand by and allow immoral behavior to occur when acting from a place of fear. How many people see injustice, violence and corruption and say nothing? How many people hand power over for decisions on their health, finances or accommodation and keep their mouths shut out of apathy or hopelessness? Just because those in power incentivize you to act a certain way does not mean that it’s just. Over the last few hundred years, how many governments have started wars and encouraged inhumane behavior in the name of “justice?”
This card asks you to think, examine, study and choose where you stand on issues that impact society in a small or large scale. What does justice mean to you? Do you have the courage to speak out to help others, or will you stand on the sidelines? You are being called to embody your love for humanity and passion for change so that the world can benefit. It is time to speak, act and make a difference.
You are also being asked to stop gossip, hurtful things being said to others or needless criticism. You are being offered the opportunity to refocus and use your voice to move society forward. Don’t waste words on petty drama.
A single voice can change how people experience life and influence the world for the better. Will it be yours?
Healing Practice
To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.
Exercise
Open your mouth, stick out your tongue and slowly circle your lips. Repeat this five times clockwise and five times counterclockwise. Afterwards, focus on the tingling sensation in your tongue. For the tongue to heal and word well, it needs elasticity.
Think of several problems or issues of importance that you believe need to change. Research how the situation could be transformed and what you can personally do to help. Gain an appreciation for the work ahead of you and make a plan to take on what you can. Be honest with yourself. Is part of you tempted to give up or sit quietly, say nothing and pretend this challenge doesn’t exist? If so, you may wish to do the following visualization.
Close your eyes and imagine the hesitant, intimidated part of you as a person. What do they look like? How do they walk and behave? Let them give voice to your misgivings. How do they justify their feelings?
Now connect to a part of you that is passionate and willing to stand up for what you believe. Visualize them as a person. What do they look like? How do thy act? How do they talk and what are they saying? Listen to their passionate talk and let it buoy you. In your mind’s eye, take a symbolic step toward the passionate, emboldened part of you and embrace them. Feel the hesitant, small you transform and join with the passionate you, giving more wisdom, understanding and compassion to all of you. When we befriend our shadow, it strengthens our light.
You are ready to move forward.
