Eleuthero Root
Eleuthero has been used for over 2,000 years, beginning in Northern China, Japan, Southeastern Russia, and North and South Korea. Not to be mistaken for American Ginseng, Eleuthero is more commonly sold as Siberian Ginseng in your local health supplement aisle.
This adaptogen helps aid the body in how it processes stress and stimulates body function. It invigorates the central nervous system and increases circulation for better blood flow through the body. When extracted, Eleuthero and its chemical compounds, eleutherosides, bind to receptor sites for estrogen, which eases symptoms of menopause and has shown to reduce insulin resistance. When used as a tonic, it can raise blood pressure over time, but is used more commonly to strengthen muscles and bones, while improving stamina, and increase fat utilization. Used also to ease the side effects of chemotherapy, eleuthero root has appeared to stimulate the regeneration of nerves and rebuild synapses in some studies and speeds the healing process by stimulating the immune system.
Eleuthero can be taken in capsule, tincture, and glyceride forms. Burn it as incense to stimulate the senses and increase focus or stamina. Utilize it in magickal workings when looking to bring balance to your health, attract money, rid yourself or your space of hexes and curses and to bring fire into your soul where the element may be out of balance.
