Amla

The Amalaki tree is said to have been gifted in the heat of a battle between gods and demons. Immortality fell to Earth in the form of bubbles and is referred to as sarvadosha hara, or the ‘remover of all disease’. In Ayurveda, it works to ease and balance all three doshas (pitta, kapha, and vata) that are necessary to maintain overall health and balance. 

Indian Gooseberry has higher vitamin C than an orange, one of the ways it bolsters the immune system. It gently removes buildup of toxins within the body by supporting digestion and elimination. Amla is said to taste sour, with a hint of bitterness. This rejuvenating adaptogen helps ease inflammation in the body and can help support the healthy function of the liver. Its iron content can help treat anemia, while its calcium, magnesium, and fiber content invite longevity and improved mental functions after helping blood flow properly. The fruit usually made into a juice, all parts of Amla can be used for its multiple purposes. It can be used as the core ingredient for shampoo and is used to flavor sauces, candies, pickles and jellies. The extract of the Amalaki tree is often turned into ink for dying or writing.
