Separation
Reconnecting to Your Center
This card suggests you may feel lost or dissatisfied and can’t quite put your finger on what is wrong. When was the last time you consciously connected to your soul’s perspective? You may have disconnected from your purpose. This can happen for many reasons, such as disappointment, distress or distraction. You may have lost trust in yourself and be looking for answers from another or the outside world. Lost confidence may mean you are reluctant to make decisions for yourself and are happier to have someone take on that responsibility for you. Self-trust and confidence make up part of our whole self. When they are lost or diminished, we can feel fragmented, our instincts can weaken, and it is easier to veer from our truth and our path. Knowing what you want is part of the process of discovering all of who you are. Creating and respecting your comfort zone can be integral to healing your separation and bringing you home to your soul truth. Thus, establishing and reinforcing boundaries will help you know what feels right for you. You can then navigate challenging situations more purposefully and be excited by possibilities aligned with your soul truth.
Shadow Mastery Class: Claiming Your Wholeness
Meditation
Place your hand on the card. Gently close your eyes. Sense your body and concentrate on your breathing. Follow your breath inward. Hold for five seconds and relax. Breathe out and release all tension. Focus on the middle of your chest.
In front of you, a golden staircase descends into the earth. Relax as you walk down the ten healing steps to a magical, amethyst crystal cave. With each step, you become aware of empty parts of yourself that want to be refilled. Step into the amethyst cave and greet your shadow. In front of you is a smooth metal door called “Retrieval.” It is safe to enter.
You enter the room to find spirals floating in the air around you. These are aspects of yourself that you have separated from. They may have been too painful to integrate in the past, but now you are ready to regain wholeness, and you ask them to gently rejoin you.
Take a breath and feel all of you vibrating in unison. You see the spirals as your soul sees them, and they transform into clouds of dreams and desires that gently move around you. The clouds move and pulse around you with different colors. Feel them as part of you and when you are ready, draw them into yourself and feel spiritually, emotionally and physically whole. Stay here for as long as you like-at least thirty seconds.
Return to the amethyst cave. Thank your shadow for alerting you to the separation that was holding you back. As you ascend the golden staircase, feel grateful for this deeper understanding of yourself. At the top of the stairs, take two deep breaths and open your eyes to wholeness, knowing any sense of separation is an illusion.
Inspired Insights, Reflections and Actions
Your soul has a view of your circumstances that is whole and unconditional. Imagine your circumstances or progress have inspired new desires. When this happens, your soul goes willingly to the desire without judging or trying to figure out how to get it or even if it is worthy. It simply expands into your desire for the bliss of creating. The physical you may not yet be aware of this process. Until you catch up with your expanded consciousness, you may feel a separation-as if something is missing. Stressful events can shatter your sense of harmony and security and make you feel disempowered. However big or small, these events can also create a sense of separation.
*Do you doubt your instincts and regularly ask others for advice, do what they say and then feel dissatisfied or disappointed in the results? When you ask for guidance or advice, listen and take in the information, then let it settle. Sit with the information before making a decision.
*When you feel disconnected, touch your heart. This touchpoint grounds and connects your mind, body and soul to give you access to your soul’s wisdom.
Journal Work
Draw or write about a time when you felt disappointed by a choice you made. You might have thought it was the best course of action, but it didn’t turn out the way you wanted. Now, look at the result. Did it bring clarity about what you did want? When you know what you don’t like, it becomes easier to understand what you do want.
Now, draw or write about a time when you felt surprised by how well a choice you made turned out. It might be that a simple or random decision led you to a new friend, discovery or opportunity. However inconsequential the choice felt, let it remind you of the mysterious ways life can unfold when you trust and follow your instincts.
How have these experiences brought more profound clarity to your life?
