Shatavari Root
Shatavari means, “who possesses a hundred husbands or acceptable to many”, which can also be translated to: “100 spouses”.
A type of asparagus native to the Himalayas, the root of the Shatavari plant is known in Ayurveda as a general and female reproductive tonic, meaning it should be used in the correct dosage regularly for the most health benefit. Said to promote fertility, Shatavari has benefits for those with all reproductive systems. It grows in most conditions, but thrives in densely shadowed, wet places; it often grows more than two meters tall!
First discovered for its health properties in 1799, Shatavari Root assists in numerous physical diseases. It contains helpful amounts of manganese, zinc magnesium, copper, and other beneficial chemical constituents. It works as an adaptogen, meaning it helps to reduce stress in the body and may help the formation of free radical cells. It has shown in study to interact with the serotonin and GABA systems of the brain, which can help to ease symptoms of anxiety and depression. It contains steroidal saponins, which have shown to target and instigate death in tumor cells and mucilage, which helps expel bacteria and viruses through mucous membranes. Shatavari root has been shown to be diuretic, meaning it aids in expulsion of extra liquids, relieves coughs, lower blood sugar, and assists with gastric ulcers and some nervous disorders.
Use Shatavari Root before sleep to open up your heart and allow intentional space for the Dream World you create.
