There is a legend included in some manuscripts of the Mahabharata about Ganesha breaking his own tusk off to continue writing the Mahabharata Epic as Vyasa was dictating it to him. Ganesha’s tuck is interpreted as a symbol of sacrifice and strength and demonstrates that it is important to finish what you start.
