Release Inner Tension

Move into Fluidity
Slow down. Breathe. How long has it been since you took a moment to simply be without distraction? Have you been able to create moments where nothing can interrupt your attention or claim your peace?
We line in an increasingly anxious society where stressful encounters can crop up at any moment. Having to be constantly on call, at attention or available in case there is a crisis at home or a situation as work means that we walk about in a constant state of overwhelm even when we are supposed to be at rest. You may feel this tension in your head, ears, teeth, face, neck and your jaw.
Relax your jaw. Was it clenched? Take a moment every day to check whether your jaw is clenched or there is tension in your body. Note how often this occurs and the situations that make you tense. Ask yourself if something is chewing away at you that you need to express. Often, sensitively sharing your struggles with those involved in the situation can alleviate the tension and bring about progress. If that is unrealistic or impossible, communicating with an empathetic confidant can lessen anxiety and lead to avenues of resolution.
Learn to identify the things that stress you and how your body responds. Take the necessary steps to disrupt these experiences and mitigate their impact. If you can let go of a stressful situation, let it go. If you can’t, develop mechanisms for managing anxiety and lessen its impact on your body.
It’s time to stop sweating the small stuff and neglecting the bigger picture of your life. If you are tensing up about something you consider important and vital to your life, try to look at it objectively. If this was happening to a stranger, what advice would you give them?
Remember that every circumstance, positive and challenging, will pass. So, do not put fear, worry and tension in charge. Rather, move through life proactively, deal with stress as it arises and move forward in new, stimulating, enlivening directions.
Breathe, slow down and become aware of your body. Be in your body, in the here and now. You are alive, you are safe, you are enough. Everything else is simply details.
Healing Practice
To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform the following healing practice.
Energy Healing
Sit comfortably and center yourself. Ru your hands together and hold them slightly apart. Visualize two balls of orange light between your hands. Place you palms on your jaw and gently massage in a circular motion on either side while breathing deeply and slowly. Allow the orange light to melt the tension from your jaw. Do this for two or three minutes.
Completely relax your fingers, toes, neck, head and jaw. Allow your body to soften and let go. Press the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth. Breathe slowly and deeply through your nose. Continue for as long as feels good.
After the exercise, ask yourself:
-What do I need to express?
-Who are the people that need to hear what I need to share?
-How can I express my point of view with delicacy?
-What changes do I need to make within myself to allow new possibilities to arise in others?
-Is there tension inside of me that makes others uncomfortable?
-Do I hold onto my feelings and then express them inappropriately?
-How can I create a more positive, healing space for others to express themselves?
Explore the answers over the following weeks or even months and start to listen to others more intently, with softness and compassion. Rather than worrying over whether others like you, focus on becoming more helpful, perceptive and kind. Let go of expectation and stress.
