Rest and Review Your Path

Assess What Is and Isn’t Working in Your Life

Have you been feeling emotionally unbalanced, tired and anxious lately? Are you pushing yourself too hard and disregarding messages from your body? Have you been ignoring the call to partake is restorative, replenishing practices?

This card asks you to slow down, become aware of detrimental behavioral patterns and start creating positive changes in your life.

Do not feel beholden to the expectations of others. Ask yourself whether the direction you are moving in is healthy for you. Are you being true to yourself or only doing what other people expect of you?

Listen to the messages of your body and respect the yearnings of your soul. Inaction feeds anxiety and stress and can lead to feeling overwhelmed. If left unchecked, this can become a pattern of panic, overthinking and inertia.

Recognize your true worth doesn’t come from accomplishments in the outside world. You do not require the validation of others to love and respect yourself. Act to better yourself in ways that demonstrate this love and respect.

Incorporating daily meditation and breathing exercises can help restore equanimity to the body, mind and heart. When you find yourself rushing from place to place, bring yourself into calm and start thinking and acting in an unhurried, deliberate manner. To avoid or counter exhaustion, make self-nourishment part of your daily routine through healthy foods and restorative sleep.

Act with inner calm and dedication to bring balance to your life. In time, you will regain your energy, achieve mental clarity and enliven your body.

Healing Practice

To integrate the guidance of this card, you may wish to perform any or all of the following healing practices.

Exercise

List the patterns, behaviors, thought processes and habits that no longer work for you. Brainstorm approaches that will redirect your focus or revitalize your energy. Ask yourself:

-What can I accomplish today?

-Can I be kinder to myself?

-Can I disrupt negative self-talk by saying something positive instead?

-Can I go for a walk in the park at lunch instead of eating at my desk?

Do one small thing each day to create positive change. Over time, you will see your life change for the better.

Visualization

Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Breathe deeply and slowly to center yourself.

Imagine your physical bod is encased in a suit of armor. The heavy armor is rusted, tarnished and dented from the many battles you have waged. It weighs you down. You are ready to be free of it – there are no more battles to fight.

Piece by piece, remove the armor and discard it into a cleansing purple fire. As you remove each piece, you feel lighter and less burdened. When you shed the final piece, see that you are whole and weightless, glowing with health and vitality. You are free to be who you want to be.

Energy Healing

Sit comfortably. Breathe deeply and slowly.

Rub your hands together to stimulate your energy and hold them slightly apart. Visualize a pale-blue ball of energy growing between your palms, warming them. Once formed, gently guide the blue ball toward your adrenal glands (located above your kidneys). Feel your adrenal glands absorb this healing, calming energy. Continue for as long as feels good for you.

Repeat this process with pale-green rays of light. As you imagine the green ball of energy, focus on embodying how you want to feel every day. Let these positive energies move through your adrenal glands and nervous system to the core of your being. Repeat this exercise daily until you start to feel re-energized and enthusiastic about life.
