La Luna

Luna

Everything has its cycles. Energy waxes and wanes, so respect the fact that you cannot be at full power all the time. Be grateful for what you have today. Rather than feeling disappointment about what you do not have, set new intentions for what you would like to have. Magic is real-and you can use it!

My mother’s mother

Watches over me,

Her silver light, her sweet power,

Over every stone, every tree.

I stand beneath her smiling,

Like millennia of others have.

We are joined in birth lines,

From sisters to brothers on.

Of the moon we know much. A symbol of the Feminine Divine for literally thousands of years across many different cultures, the moon affects humans, not just physically and mentally, but spiritually as well.

Aradia’s mother, Diana, was herself the Goddess of the Moon-and in some cults it was believed that Diana was actually the moon, itself. When the moon beamed down, that was Diana’s blessing and the sign that it was the night to become skyclad in her presence and devote yourself to her.

Aradia taught her witches to observe their lunar cycles and align with them to increase the potency of their spells. For instance, they used the dark moon for rest and curse cutting, the full moon for devotionals, the waning moon to reduce what was no longer needed, and the waxing moon to attract what was wanted-love and prosperity included.
