Scota is thought to be the missing Meritaten, daughter of Nefertiti and Akhenaten. The oldest history book in Scotland, called Origins, speaks of a visit by an Egyptian princess who becomes the namesake of the land. After time spent in Scotland, Scota reputedly traveled to Kerry, Ireland. Scota’s journey is documented in Irish text’s dating back to 320 CE. Faience beads, the very same as found in Tutankhamun’s tomb, were located in a grave inside a mound near the Hill of Tara. a place of sacred kingship and an ancient seat of power. The beads have been carbon-dated to around 1350 BCE. This find proves an early link between Egypt and Scotland and Ireland. Meritaten is pictured here thinking of the design on a curbstone in Knowth. If there is an area of the world you long to visit, perhaps a past life is calling you to explore.
