Prostitutes revered her as their patron. A Goddess of Love, her planet is Venus – which is the name given to her by the Romans. Her beauty caused wars among the gods, but she was calm and even helpful. She would sometimes enlist her son, Eros (Cupid), to help lovers and heroes in their quests for fulfillment. Paris bestowed the golden apple upon her for being the most beautiful goddess, and this may have been the real cause of the Trojan war. When you choose love over jealousy, you choose peace over war.
