Whether an inner battle or an outer one, physics shows us that the Universe is always striving to return to a natural state of balance. The Holy Thorn Tree on Wearyall Hill in Glastonbury was a place where ancient knights performed their vigil before going into battle. It also stands as a symbol of the safe return from an arduous quest. The tree was recently vandalized and cut. This is tragic, yes, but it reminds us that the magic of Avalon, as with love, dwells in our hearts and cannot be destroyed by vandals – or by any ruinous act of another. If we allow others to have that power, their intentions will be fulfilled. When you are weary from involvement in the problems of the world, remember to keep the vigil of your heart. Resting upon the nexus point of the knight’s sword is the blue rose of immortality. The tree will rejuvenate itself and grow once again.
