Svadhishthana-Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is our sacred-to-self chakra, the seat of our sensual and sexual desires and expression, and the birthplace of our creativity and creations. When healthy, we feel safe in our sexuality, free to explore this aspect of ourselves. All too often, the sacral chakra can contract, restricting the flow of energy and leaving us feeling unattractive and unreceptive to desire. This card is a reminder that this part of us needs nourishment, too. When nourished, we connect with our deeper sense of selves, and new ideas begin to manifest. The sacral chakra contains the Yin feminine energy, like the gentle but brilliant moonlight.
The creative, flowing water element of the ocean, bathed in moonlight, gives rise to Aphrodite (or Venus)- goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation- who is birthing from the orange water on a pod of playful dolphins. The dolphins remind us to be playful with our creativity and sensual selves. Male or female, give yourself full permission to be beautiful, inside and out. Appreciate beauty in and around you. Venus is carrying Neptune’s trident, representing a unity with the masculine, a coming together of the planetary representations of earthly love with divine unconditional love, ensuring magical alchemy. The whale on the horizon reminds us to go deep inside our sacral selves in order to tune in to the soul’s song and sing our desires into creation. Tap into your potential, and bathe in the moonlight. The sacred feminine lies within us all.
Action: Indulge in orange; bathe in salt baths, or swim in the ocean. This card is an invitation to go deeper into knowing and exploring yourself; allow, surrender, and let go into your desire for a fulfilled life experience.
Points of Reflection
Are you free to express your sexuality? Do you consider or experience sex as a sacred act of two divine beings unifying in mind, body, and spirit?
Do you know who you are? Your likes, dislikes, your passion, your values? What do you love doing or being? What makes your heart sing?
Do you know how to let go of control and allow yourself to flow downstream? Do you trust that what is downstream is where your treasure lies, or do you believe that it must be upstream?
How much time do you give each day/week/month to yourself for nourishing activities or thoughts?
Do you honor and create sacred ritual time for yourself to meditate, draw/paint, write, dream?
Is play scheduled into your day?
Do you feel worthy of all of the above?
You are so worthy! Take the time to honor, play, and nurture your “self”. He/she will be eternally grateful and give you so much more back in return. If you don’t know how great you are, it’s because you haven’t looked deep enough inside. Your treasure is here, waiting to be found! Trust in your goodness, remember who you are, and allow the journey to wholeness.
