Made For Motion
Humans were made for motion, but our lives now keep many of us still for too many hours every day. As a consequence of living a more sedentary lifestyle, we may develop a multitude of physical and mental health issues. Our minds and bodies become inflamed and vulnerable to dis-ease and distress.
The message of this dancing goddess is that you need to make time for regular movement. It doesn’t have to be exercise. It is hard work to sustain and maintain a routine exercise session if you don’t enjoy it. In fact, you’re more likely not to do it if you feel uncomfortable or ashamed. Let go of any shame, dear soul. Know that you are divine.
But it is important to love your body and your body needs you to move and to keep it strong. If traditional exercise is something you avoid, then dance while you clean the house, work in the garden, go for a swim or a bike ride. If you’re stuck in an office, try sneaking in some stretches. You can be seated and still keep your body moving.
Movement can help to keep us healthy and happy. If you are feeling anxious and overwhelmed, turn on some music and dance. Get up and go for a walk. Play with your pet. Put your hands in the earth. A little extra movement can help you to sleep better, can give you more energy, and improve your ability to focus.
Keep your brain happy and active by keeping your body happy and active.
