Snake
Shedding Pain
Shedding layers and layers, gone in a swirl.
Over and over again, this is my world.
I’m in no rush, let this take a good while,
for done right, it will all end with a smile.
The mystical journey is long and true,
I’ll be courageous and wander through.
Wanderer’s Wisdom
Thick, muddy, hellish shadows nestle deep within our areas of pain. This card is calling for you to work through the constantly shifting silhouettes of anguish and suffering. These unseen shapes may be lurking underneath the subconscious, so we may not even know they exist, but they are there affecting our earthly experience nonetheless. We can take wisdom from the ancient knowledge of the snake, for he knows that just because you have shed once doesn’t mean the deed is done. The snake understands shadow work is needed time after time. In this labor resides many things, both the dark, grimy shadows of agony, but also the light all-knowing shadows that are your gifts. The barriers that surround our energetic powers, as well as our pains, need to be removed, released from our energetic bodies so that we can begin again. This power animal reminds us that the work is never done.
Take Action
Begin shadow work, even if you do not think you need it. Understand that you can’t see everything. There is a block that is not allowing you to tap into your psychic abilities. Release stale relationships. Be open to new people, ideas, and ways of doing things.
Snake Revealed
Along the wanderer’s path, snakes are closely associated with renewal, rebirth, and transformation. Their literal shedding of skin is a reminder that we have the capacity to endure, rise above, and recover from our challenges and difficulties. Snake iconography is a sign of healing and continuity.
