Desert

Middle Ground

Cracked, bruised and barren land,

let all weapons now be banned.

Cooling waters soothe stark wounds

and from there, resolution blooms.

The mystical journey is long and true,

I’ll be courageous and wander through.

Wanderer’s Wisdom

Right now, the space between you and someone, or a situation, is a barren land. It’s dry, painful, open, and blistering. Sometimes the truth on one side of a confrontation or situation is as equal and powerful as the other side. Both sides feel they are sharing their truth, and a compromise must be met. Otherwise, a stalemate may occur, an area of time where neither of you moves forward in your relationship or life. Take a moment and step into the other side, try to find an alternative perspective to help you come to an understanding, seek the middle ground. A place where you don’t give up a part of yourself and the other person doesn’t as well. Sometimes compromise is the best solvent. Find a way to blend your thoughts into something bigger than what you could do by yourself. The outcome may serve you and he world even better than you initially thought.

Take Action

Try looking at a situation from a different perspective. Reflect on the exact reasons why you agree or disagree with a position. Defend your truth. Sometimes, compromise is growth, but do not give yourself away. Own your thoughts. Disagreement doesn’t have to be forever; once it over, let it go. Don’t run away from a confrontation.
